Job Description

CVD Equipment Corporation (NASDAQ: CVV) designs, develops, and manufactures a broad range of chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor transport, gas and chemical delivery control systems, and other equipment and process solutions used to develop and manufacture materials and coatings for industrial applications and research. Our products are used in production environments as well as research and development centers, both academic and corporate. Stainless Design Concepts (SDC®) , a subsidiary of CVD Equipment Corporation, is a manufacturer of Ultra-High-Purity (UHP) gas and chemical delivery systems for high-tech fabrication processes. 

Stainless Design Concepts (SDC®) located in Saugerties, NY has an opportunity for a Weld Technician who will perform tasks related to cutting, bending, preparing and welding stainless steel tubing which is used in the manufacture of Gas and Chemical Delivery Systems.

What you will do:

  • Proactively adhere to all safety standards and established protocols.
  • Cut and prepare Stainless Steel tubing as specified by mechanical drawing. (cut to specified length, square and debur ends, and bend).
  • Perform TIG, MIG, and ATW welding of stainless-steel parts and piping assemblies. 
  • Ensure strict adherence to company manufacturing standards, methods, and policies meeting established quality requirements.
  • Package and organize prepared tubing and components.
  • Ensure adherence to defined manufacturing and company quality standards.
  • Meet production schedules to established standards and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks and basic upkeep to maintain a clean and orderly workstation, caring for equipment and tools.

Education & Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent with Vocational/Trade School/Military training in welding.
  • 1+ years of mechanical assembly and welding experience (TIG, MIG, and ATW) preferably with Industrial Capital equipment.

Required Skill & Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, mechanical drawings, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience with various hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, and metal cutting saws.
  • Demonstrated ability to use measurement instruments such as calipers and tape measures.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must have good communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Computer efficiency with Windows-based programs.
  • Work well independently and within a team to coordinate efforts with colleagues.
  • Effectively manage time; complete tasks as required.
