About the Role: Software Engineer - Summer Internship

As a Software Engineer Intern at Bits, you'll dive deep into the world of software development, gaining hands-on experience alongside seasoned professionals. This internship is not only about learning; it's about contributing to real projects that impact our users daily. You'll be working closely with our engineering team, helping to build and maintain our systems while learning the ins and outs of the fintech space.

This internship is perfect for someone who is entrepreneurial, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is excited about working closely with a founder on high-impact tasks. The In-Term Internships for Fall/Spring, is roughly 10-15 hours a week.

Requirements

Requirements - You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Are currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have a basic understanding of programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or TypeScript.
  • Possess familiarity with web development concepts, including HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
  • Have experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
  • Are eager to learn about backend technologies and APIs.
  • Have strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to tackle new challenges.
  • Are a team player with good communication skills.
  • Have a proactive attitude and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the team.

Desired Extras:

  • Experience with any backend frameworks such as Node.js and Typescript.
  • Familiarity with cloud service platforms (AWS, etc.).
  • Understanding of database concepts and basic SQL.
  • Prior internship or project experience in software development.
