The Family Centered Safety and Support Section (FCSSS) is dedicated to the implementation of early intervention programs that support family safety and well-being. 

The FCSSS is looking for an Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) with an interest in policy and program activities which support families through the development of trauma-informed, early intervention services and practices designed to keep families safely together. The Early Intervention Services Unit is looking for an AGPA that must be dedicated to work with policies directly impacting child welfare and incorporate the values, core components, standards of practice and activities that are part of the Integrated Core Practice Model, while aligning with the COSS vision for prevention and early intervention within an integrated system of care for all Californians. Working Conditions

This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer’s markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80. 

This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Specific telework arrangements may be discussed in more detail with the respective hiring manager. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Social Services policies.

Training and Development assignments may be considered based on the availability of eligible candidates and are subject to approval by the Hiring Authority prior to appointment. Training and Development assignments are temporary in nature and shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months.

The analyst will perform complex, journey level analytical staff work related to child welfare services policy and program development. The analyst will possess strong writing, collaboration, research and analytical skills to complete policy interpretations, develop and implement state practices, and regulations related to child welfare services; specifically, foster care prevention services related to the passage of the Family First Prevention Services Act. The ability to think creatively and work collaboratively to solve problems and innovate are essential and encouraged.
