CBS Media Ventures is seeking a thoughtful and hardworking Social Media AP with a passion for news and entertainment to join our "Inside Edition" team and help us optimize each of our stories for publishing on social platforms!

This will require a candidate with strong editorial judgment and enough social media expertise to recommend which clips from each episode are most likely to resonate on social platforms – and the best treatment per platform. They must be able to produce and edit videos that will engage audiences on TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, X and YouTube – using in-platform tools and features to render the text and graphics more authentic to the audiences we are trying to reach. The candidate must have an eye for recognizing moments with the potential to gain traction and excellent writing skills to pen SEO-friendly captions to go along with them.

The ideal candidate will be adept in the standard processes of TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, X and YouTube, as proven by their active social media profiles. They must be able to write share language for captions and titles that is simultaneously concise and shareable, yet fully in context and in line with the Inside Edition brand.

The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 2pm to 10pm.

Candidate qualifications:

• 1 to 3 years of social media or newsroom experience
• Deep familiarity with social media platforms, audiences and best practices
• Strong writing skills
• Strong producing and editing skills, as this position will be responsible for the production of multiple social packages every day
• Ability to optimally and accurately subtitle video for social, using both editing tools, like Adobe Premiere, and the text tools within TikTok and Instagram
• Proficiency in Capcut
• Ability to work well with a team under tight deadlines
• Degree or equivalent experience in journalism, communications or related

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $65,000 - 70,000. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
