The Swim Coach is responsible for providing members an individualized instruction in a group
environment that is tailored to their needs and skill ability. The Swim Coach will also assist with
swim meets, swim clinics and team events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Lead and assist small group swim practices, with the ability to coach at various levels.
2. Coach within standard guidelines of specialty certifications. Must be willing to obtain all
required USA Swimming and Ohio Swimming coaching certifications.
3. Maintain industry certification in good standing and meet continuing education
requirements.
4. Work closely with the Lead coaches to create a supportive, fun and welcoming
environment along with excellent technique instruction.
5. Able to work M-F evenings (minimum of 2 days a week, with the opportunity for more).
6. Demonstrate accountability to schedule by avoiding missed practices and seek
substitute coaches in advance.
7. The ability to be flexible and accommodating as it relates to center hours, meet
schedules, practice schedules and special events.
8. Must meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
9. Demonstrate complete knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and confidence
in communicating with EMS.
Qualifications:
· MUST BE 18 years old. High School diploma.
· Minimum 1 year related experience instructing and/or coaching swim required or some
competitive experience.
· CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness)
· Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with
members and coaches in a positive, service based manner.
· Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor.
Mercy Healthplex Sea Wolves were established in 2004 and are a small team on the east side
of Cincinnati in Anderson. We are rapidly growing and looking for experienced coaches or
instructors to join our team. The ideal candidate has competitive coaching experience or is
knowledgeable in teaching stroke mechanics in a small group environment ages 12 and under.
Candidate must be able to think outside the box and be willing to learn and grow under the head
and lead coach. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to start their coaching career,
retired former swimmer or college student.
Minimum of 2 days a week, M-F evenings. There are opportunities for more days/hours.
